21.....a simple number right?
What if 21 days could change your life?
^^^ That was my thought when I started exactly a year ago. What if this could help me turn my life around? What if I could finally learn a healthy lifestyle? What if this isn't all hype? What if I could
finally start conquering my depression and anxiety?
So why 21 days?
Because 21 days is how long it takes to start forming a new, consistent habit. Turning a new leaf, creating a new habit is easier to do than to break a routine. Changing your life can be hard, the thought can be daunting, but forming a new habit starts with day one-trying.
How can you successfully start to form a new habit?
1) Take small steps and don't try to accomplish everything at once. (If you are adding exercise into your routine don't say, "I am going to exercise everyday, start by saying2) Start by trying to change one habit at a time (Instead of trying to totally change your your entire life (eating, sleeping, exercising) start with one aspect- "I am going to stop eating junk food and watch my portions."
3) Write down what you are trying to change-Make a specific plan like I am going to wake up at 7 am and workout for 30 minutes.
4) Repeat the behavior your are aiming to change consistently everyday without fail. Even if that means that you workout at a different time because you woke up late.
5) Find an accountability partner-no one should ever have to do this alone, find someone you relate to that will lift you up

Personally, I was worried that it was another fad. I had tried everything in the past to stay on track, I took diet pills, I withheld eating carbs, I would only eat if I worked out and then would binge after. For me this was necessary. I needed something real that would actually make a difference for my health. I was still healing from my second surgery last year and was still dealing with all of my life
At first, I didn't take it seriously. I didn't think it would work. Then I started to see the people in my health and fitness accountability group getting results after just their first week. I was in! I started making a simple meal plan, easy to follow and started the workouts. I told myself just make it through the first 30 minutes....those first 30 minutes changed everything for me. I was hooked and after 21 days I had lost 10 pounds and 10 inches. Now a year later, I have maintained my results and have gained strength to complete 2 extreme workouts.
